People raved about this material at the last two International ICF Conferences, and now we are bringing it to you!
Building on their research into adult development, renowned Harvard scholars Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey created a coaching program (ITC) that addresses the hidden mechanism which prevents people from making the changes that are most important to them. Their work has revolutionized the practice of personal and organizational change. Individuals and organizations throughout the world make use of these ideas and practices. See www.mindsatwork.com for more information.
Kegan and Lahey write, "People can change . . . . [they] can make significant improvements in focused areas where they have many times before tried and failed; and yes, even 'grown ups' can continue to evolve more complex mental systems . . ."
In this workshop you will:
- Identify a goal which you hold to be highly significant (your ‘foot on the gas').
- Create a clear and powerful visual MAP of a previously hidden "immunity-to-change" that acts as a counter-goal (your ‘foot on the brake').
- Articulate the "big time bad assumption" that keeps these opposing forces in place.
- Decide on the best approach for you to implement a strategic change process whereby you are released from the paralysis of this dynamic tension.
Rita Cloutier has counselled, taught, and facilitated professional development workshops and events for over 30 years. She earned an M.A. in Leadership and Training through Royal Roads University and was the recipient of the Founders' Award for 2004. Other certifications include: Core Competencies (Society for Organizational Learning), Mediation and Conflict Resolution (Transformative Justice, Australia), and Outward Bound Leadership. She received her ITC certification in 2009. Rita loves to learn, values mistakes (her own and others), and enjoys contributing to learning environments that support and challenge the growth of others.Give yourself the best Valentine's Day present ever! Work on something significant for yourself and take away a powerful tool to use with personal clients and organizations alike!
We encourage you to bring a learning partner with you to this event so you can capitalize on the ongoing change process that flows naturally from the workshop. Don't have a partner? No problem, you can pair up with someone at the meeting.
