I just sent this blast:
Important Notice: 2011 Prism Awards
The ICF Vancouver Chapter Board of Directors voted unanimously last week to move the planned 2011 awards to the spring of 2012.
The primary factor that influenced our decision is the number of credentialed coaches in the Vancouver Chapter. Our current membership of 260 coaches includes only 60 ICF credentialed coaches. To be eligible to submit a ICF Prism nomination, coaches must be ICF credentialed and working with companies in the BC region. Both of these factors contribute to a relatively small pool of coaches able to submit a nomination annually.
We believe hosting the next Prism Awards event in 2012 gives us the time needed to support coaches and organizations in our community to prepare quality nominations that will ensure the ongoing credibility and integrity of the Award. These are values the ICF Vancouver Board strives to honour in all the work that we do for the coaching community.
The Vancouver Chapter Prism Award event is a terrific opportunity to honour organizations that have engaged in business coaching and achieved tangible bottom line results from this investment. The coaches and organizations that have received past Prism Awards have demonstrated coaching excellence within our community. We are committed to engaging more coaches and organizations in the Prism Award so they too can be recognized for their work while promoting the benefits of coaching.
We recognize this is a shift in direction from previous messaging that has been provided to you throughout the year. This decision has been made in the best interest of the Chapter and its members.
The ICF
Calgary Chapter is currently considering hosting Prism every two years due to the same challenges and the desire to host a quality event.
The decision to not have Prism in 2011 creates the opportunity to use the beautiful convention centre venue to host a new event in April that appeals to a broader audience in our coaching community. This is currently under development at this time. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting opportunity!
We appreciate your support and understanding regarding the Board decision and if anyone has any questions or comments please contact Prism Co-Chairs, Callie Bland or Sanda Islik
